The Social Work Practice, Education and Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards designates field education as the "signature pedagogy" in social work education. Through field education, students are successfully socialized into our profession and learn how to perform the role of a social work practitioner in any agency setting. BSW and MSW students are able to connect what is learned in the classroom, link that knowledge, and use it within the practice environment at their agency.
We encourage prospective students, current students, and Field Instructors/Task Supervisors to explore the field education site and learn more about field education as a component of a BSW major or MSW graduate program.
